Blood of Hercules by Jasmine Mas is a dark fantasy romance that retells the story of Hercules. The second book will be released in October of 2025. The book follows the main character who becomes homeless at a young age with her foster brother Charlie. After taking a blood test, it is revealed that in a world where Titans are against the Spartans, she is in fact a Spartan. She receives mentors and attends the Spartan War Academy. I chose to read this book after seeing it on Booktok, and it was everything that I expected and a few things that I never saw coming.

Blood of Hercules is a dark fantasy that takes place in a world where Gods and Monsters are warring while the mortals do the best to survive. The story follows a female lead character who discovers her hidden legacy in the Spartan World. She goes through trials and survival training to try to survive and be one of the last ones standing. This book has action, romance, twists, and morally grey characters.

What I loved
I loved the retelling of Hercules in this way and the depths of the characters within the story. The world building was great and the storyline was addictive in the best way.
