Introduction
Abby Jimenez’s book, Part of Your World is a romance novel about a doctor in the middle of a divorce who meets a carpenter in a nearby small town. This was my first read by Abby Jimenez and I was not overwhelmed by the expectations I had from the rave reviews on TikTok. I do think I may give another one of her books a chance but this one in particular was like reading a very slow Hallmark movie with a couple I did not feel a reason to root for.

about the book
Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez is available on Amazon through the link in which I receive small commissions for purchase or it is also available on Kindle Unlimited or on the Libby App through your local library.
“Women like Alexis didn’t live in ashes. They didn’t live in small towns in the middle of nowhere where you couldn’t get a damn steak in the off-season. They didn’t ride around in tired trucks and hold hands with men who had calluses.”
summary (spoiler-free)
Alexis is a city girl who meets a small town man named Daniel when she ends up on the side of the road with car trouble. When she goes to get some food at the only place open, Daniel is there and after not telling him what she does for a living, because he is a stranger, she still goes home with him for some grilled cheese. She is still dealing with the after effects of her soon to be ex husband, family drama and finds time to go see Daniel and his goat in his small town. He is also the mayor of this town. Her family is medical royalty, her brother marries a pop star and makes his sister sign an NDA. The couple in this book does not feel believable, her love for the goat seems more real than her love for Daniel.
“Grace costs you nothing. My grandma used to say it. She especially liked to say it to herself when I was being a little shit.”
who should read this?
I honestly cannot recommend this book. I’m now begging someone to tell me that this was the wrong first book of Abby’s to read and to give her another chance. I am completely willing.
what could be better?
I wanted a more believable couple and honestly I wanted a better protagonist. I do not watch Hallmark movies but this may possibly have been more cheesy than a Hallmark movie.
