Maev is a descendent of Thaetus and therefore deemed to be a possible servant for the Usher of Spring. Ares, also a descendent of Thaetus is fighting for acknowledgment and survival in an arena. Frida is chosen to be this season’s Usher of Spring which should save her cousin Maev from the fate of a servant since the Ushers choose their servants from the dependents of Thaetus, but Frieda does not want to be alone. To be the Usher is an honor, to be the servant is a death sentence.

The Usher of Spring is a wonderful fantasy with the perfect touch of romance, family and lore. Following three characters stories seamlessly comes together as we follow Ares, Maev, and Frieda. The tale tells us that the Usher of Spring when chosen by the previous Usher of Spring will travel through the lands with the heart of Thaetus and bring Spring back to the lands as she travels with the servants who are descendants of Thartus. When the Usher returns, they will become a Goddess, the fate for the servants is not as intriguing. I cannot wait for the next books in this series to come out.

What I loved
The writing in this book is beautiful to consume, the characters are interesting and bring so much to the story. The backstory included is the perfect addition, never taking too much away from the main storyline, but adding to it and the characters themselves. Tayloranne, what you have done here is incredible.
