initial thoughts

I chose to pick up this book honestly as a goof. That was my initial response to hearing that there was a book out there about a man and his cat fighting at the end of the world. Now, there were some things that intrigued me before I even picked up the book, it was supposed to be hilarious and an RPG. I love the world building I get to be apart of in Dungeons and Dragons.

reading the book

When I picked up Dungeon Crawler Carl and started reading, I could barely put it down. I will not give away any spoilers but it is not only funny, the writing is incredible. The main characters are so well developed and balanced but so are the side characters. You find yourself wanting the side characters to show up in the game again because you care about how they are doing. The book touches on life and how we would treat each other in the end of times. It was more than I ever thought it would be.

will you like this book?

If you like raw funny emotion, if you have a good sense of humor (both wet and dry humor) then I cannot recommend this book enough. I am currently on the second book of seven books in the series. I will keep reviews updated for how far down I continue the series.

my favorite character

My favorite character right now is Princess Donut. If you had told me that a cat could be an emotionally developed thought provoking character, I would never have believed you until this book. Honestly though, I like all of the characters so far, even the ones that are easy to hate. There are certain overhanging groups that I am not a big fan of, but I will let you find those for yourself.
