Introduction

The Mighty is a must read book, one that most of us read in our early childhoods and is definitely worth a reread as adults. This short novel packs so much emotion, friendship and life lessons in a compact setting.

About the Book

The Mighty is a story about two boys whose mother’s were friends long before they were born. Now, they live down the street from one another. Though, they could not live more different lives.

Summary (No Spoilers)

Max lives with his grandparents in their basement, his mother gone and his dad in prison for murder. Freak lives with Gwen of Air down the road, and is the brain of the operations. He sits on max’s shoulders and together they go on adventures in their neighborhood. This book is a classic from when I was a child but it still holds so strong in all of its lessons today. Freak’s dictionary is also helpful as always.
